DITA Best Practices

If I were currently working with a documentation framework using DITA, I would definitely try to get my hands on this: DITA Best Practices: A Roadmap for Writing, Editing, and Architecting in DITA. Looks like a comprehensive guide to many of the aspects of doing the DITA thing, and given that the paradigm is so complex, you need a guide - or a good set of agreements about process and practices, but having a guide to base them on should make things easier.

Proposal writing

Now here's a little something that gives the Service Model Initiative I'm leading a whole new bag of oats to chew on: http://www.klariti.com/business-writing/Are-you-proposing-solution-or-product.shtml. For each of those service descriptions, we should provide a line or two of description on why a customer might need this particular service. (Apart from that one draft-level comment I accidentally left in: "This is for seriously clueless customers..." :D )

Finding work

This looks like an interesting find for freelancers: oDesk. I don't have time to investigate how exactly it works and how one gets paid (I would imagine either PayPal or customisable payment mode).
